A Horrifying Discovery
It was spring of 1939. Lina Medina and her parents, Tiburelo Medina and Victoria Losea, lived in a remote village in Peru. They had a seemingly normal life until her mother noticed a large swelling in her abdomen.
As the swelling grew, Lina’s parents feared for her life, assuming it was a tumor.
Lina’s parents brought her to a doctor in Lima to get the “tumor” evaluated. To their shock and horror, they discovered that their daughter was seven months pregnant.
According to further medical assessments, her parents were further horrified to find out that Lina had been four years old when she became pregnant.
Lina’s case obviously outraged the world. It raised a lot of questions. How could this physically happen? Who was the person to rape her and impregnate her?
Physically, scientists and doctors who studied her case said that it was, in fact, quite possible for a four-year-old to get pregnant…
